The 1984 film (directed by Heinz Schirk) was the first cinematic recreation of the Wannsee Conference and is considered a landmark of German Holocaust cinema. It preceded the discovery of the complete Wannsee Protocol by several years and was based on the partial documentation available at the time. The 2022 remake 'The Conference' covers the same meeting with a different dramatic approach.
