Munich: The Edge of War — Germany
Neville Chamberlain meets Hitler to negotiate the fate of the Sudetenland — the Munich Agreement of 30 September 1938 cedes Czechoslovakia's borderlands and delays European war.
The Munich Agreement was signed by Britain, France, Italy and Germany on 30 September 1938. Czechoslovakia, not party to the negotiations, was forced to cede the Sudetenland. Chamberlain returned declaring 'peace for our time'. Hitler occupied the remainder of Czechoslovakia in March 1939, destroying any credibility for appeasement.
