My Way — France
Korean long-distance runner Jun-shik ends up fighting for Japan, then the Soviet Union, then Germany — culminating at the D-Day beaches in Normandy as a German prisoner captured by American forces.
The 2011 Korean film is loosely based on the true story of Yang Kyoungjong, a Korean soldier reportedly photographed in German uniform at Normandy in 1944. He had allegedly been conscripted into the Japanese Army, captured by Soviets at Khalkhin Gol, then pressed into German service. The Normandy detail remains disputed by some historians.
