Nacht und Nebel (Night and Fog) — Poland

Directed by Alain Resnais in 1956, Night and Fog was the first major documentary on the Holocaust. The title refers to Hitler's 1941 Nacht und Nebel decree, under which prisoners were made to 'disappear' into the night and fog — their fates unknown to their families.
