A Sonderkommando prisoner attempts to give a proper burial to a child he believes is his son.
The Sonderkommando were Jewish prisoners forced to work in the crematoria under threat of death. In October 1944 they launched the only armed uprising within Auschwitz, destroying Crematorium IV. All participants were killed.
